Mediacorp Channel 8 Frontline is a well-received Chinese current affairs programme aired every Friday at 8.00pm. The latest episode on 23rd September 2016 featured Singaporean golfers going overseas to play golf.
The Producer chose to feature Palm Resort as a popular destination recommended by Singaporean golfers. Good golf courses, affordability and favourable exchange rate are the main considerations as golfing becomes more expensive in land scarce Singapore.
Aside to the three beautiful 18 holes golf courses, Palm Resort is also a 330 rooms 4-Star resort hotel with different restaurant in-house to offer variety under one roof. The Sports & Leisure Centre comes with facilities like indoor rock climbing, bowling alley, archery and other fun-filled activities for the whole family.
CHARITY SUNSET RUN 4 FUND 2016
In Aid of Palliative Care Association of Johor Bahru
2016, July 25 - Senai, Johor –Palm Resort Berhad is organizing its second installment of the Charity Sunset Run4Fund on Saturday, 20 August 2016 after a successful event last year. It is an 8km Course Route Run to raise funds for The Palliative Care Association of Johor Bahru (PCAJB).
As before, the Run will take place at the Melati Course and will take place in the evening at 4.00 pm. Entry fee is RM50 per person and participants will receive an event T-shirt, Goody Bag and a Finisher Medal each. The organizing committee hopes to target a total of 500 runners and raise a minimum of RM10,000 from the entry fees and donations from members and resort guests.
“Once again, we are raising funds in aid of the Palliative Care Association of Johor Bahru (PCAJB) as they are always in need of funds to buy medical supplies, support equipment, and other expenses incurred by the medical team who help cancer patients who are interned at home,” said Jef Kong, Club CEO and Hotel General Manager of Le Grandeur Palm Resort.
Last year, a total of RM20,000 was raised and the monies went towards aiding PCAJB to purchase equipment needed for terminal stage cancer patients.
“For many of our first time runners last year, it was a novelty as many of them had never been on a golf course before. They enjoyed the beauty of nature and lush tropical greenery, interspersed with manicured hills and water features such as ponds and streams,” said Kong.
According to Organising Chairman, Daphne Ng, the event this year will increase from two last year to four categories this year, namely for Ladies’ Open, Ladies’ Veteran for those aged 55 years and above, Men’s Open and Men’s Veteran for those aged 60 years and above. Cash prizes at RM300, RM200 and RM100 will be given away to the top three runners of each category.
Other than raising funds through the entry fee, the organisers hope that there will be generous donors and sponsors who will be able to exceed the target amount. Cash collection boxes will be placed at the hotel and club lobbies, where donors can drop cash contributions.
The Palliative Care Association of Johor Bahru was set-up in 2007 to provide quality medical and nursing care for cancer patients. They have provided hospice care to hundreds of patients and continue to look to socially-responsible companies for funding.
Participation is still open and those interested can sign up by calling 607-5996000 or 607-5996222 or log on to our facebook page at
